Dan is a 1981 graduate of Olivet College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and English. He is married and resides in Charlotte, MI.
Dan has coached youth sports for his children, AAU Basketball, boys High School Varsity Basketball, and is an avid Golfer serving on the Board of Trustees at Duck Lake Country Club from 1992 to 1994. He is the former President and current member of the Board of Directors of Kingman Museum Inc. in Battle Creek, MI and was on the Board of Trustees for Olivet Congregational Church in Olivet, MI for ten years, serving as Chairman for three years.
